Subject: Mini-Conference for STEM High School Students - APS Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics at the University of Kansas
High school students interested in possible careers in science, technology, math or engineering are invited to attend a one-day mini-conference at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. The high school program is being held in conjunction with the Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) and will include panel discussions, workshops, student research talks, and a poster session.
The American Physical Society’s CUWiP program at the University of Kansas is part of a group of regional conferences for undergraduate physics majors that will be held January 12-14,2018. The primary goal of the conference is to help women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas.
Interested students should complete the application form at http://apscuwip.ku.edu/high-school by Friday, November 10.
Please share this information with your students and encourage them to apply. We are also attaching a poster that may be distributed or posted in a prominent location.
