2023 Kansas Regional Science and Engineering Fairs
Students who are accustomed to compete in a regional science fair in Kansas may have to travel somewhat farther than they did last year. Regional science fairs in Kansas this year will be held in Wichita, Liberal, and Ozawkie only. As entry deadlines approach, it is important to note that signatures on required entry paperwork are required before experimentation begins. Dates and entry requirements follow.
The Wichita regional science fair will be held at the Exploration Place facility, located at 300 N. Mclean Avenue on Friday, March 3. The deadline to register for the 2023 fair is Friday, February 17. The fair is open to students is grades 1 to 12. In southwest Kansas, the regional event will be hosted by Seward County Community College in Liberal. Separate divisions are available for K-3 students, for grades 4-8, and for students in grades 9-12. Applications are due on February 20, 2023 and the fair itself will be held on March 4. Ozawkie, on the shores of Lake Perry about 15 miles north of Lawrence, is the third regional science fair site in the state. The fair will be held on February 24 at the Keystone Learning Services site located at 500 Sunflower Blvd. in Ozawkie. The fair is open to students in grades 4-12. Each of the regional fairs provides a pathway to the Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Wichita on March 24 and 25. Details of the state fair are available at KSSEF Home Page (google.com). As a final reminder, all fairs require that signatures on required paperwork be obtained before experimenting begins.
